LEWISBURG, Pa. – Five members of the Bucknell swimming and diving teams competed at the Speedo Sectional Meet in Buffalo this past weekend. The four-day meet took place at Erie Community College and was conducted in long course meters. It was the first of a number of off-season meets for various Bucknell swimmers.
Julianna Foss, Diana Hanson and Dani Potis represented Bucknell's women's team, while Tarik Lott and Sam Mackie competed on the men's side. The contingent combined for seven finals appearances and Potis set a long course school record in the 200-meter freestyle.
Foss had a team-high three finals appearances, placing sixth in the 100 fly and 100 back and seventh in the 200 fly. Hanson was sixth in the 100 breast, while Potis placed 17th overall in the 200 free. Her finals time of 2:09.33 shaved more than three seconds off the previous long course school record in the event.
Mackie had the best finish of any Bison swimmer at the event as he placed third in the 200 breast. He was also fourth in the 200 breast. Lott touched the wall eighth in the 100 breast.
