Women's Tennis Ends Florida Trip on a High Note

ORLANDO, Fla. – Bucknell women's tennis wrapped up its Florida trip with a 7-0 win over St. Cloud State on Thursday. The victory followed a 6-1 loss to James Madison earlier in the day.
The Bison received a singles win from Lisa Jouravleva against James Madison (7-3). She defeated the Dukes' Sarah Khan 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2.
Jouravleva improved to 2-0 in singles on the day with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Marilla Roque Diversi at No. 2. Junior Maria Cioffi (No. 1), freshman Madeline Melch (No. 3), sophomore Jorie Fox (No. 4), sophomore Michele Urbinati (No. 5) and senior Alyssa McAndrew (No. 6) also won in singles for the Bison.
Bucknell was dominant in singles play against the Huskies, winning 36 games while losing just 10.
The Bison swept the three doubles matches, including another win for Jouravleva as she teamed with junior Stephanie Pino for an 8-6 win at No. 1. Freshmen Emilie Bush and Allison Lane were 8-6 winners at No. 2, and senior Christie Schneider and sophomore Melissa Parks posted an 8-2 decision at No. 3.
All 11 players on the Bucknell roster contributed to the win with either a singles or doubles triumph.
The Bison, who suffered 7-0 defeats to Evansville and Northern Illinois on Tuesday, leave Florida with an overall record of 2-9. They will play their first home matches of the spring when they host Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday and Rider on Thursday.
