Audrey Dotson Named to Capital One Academic All-District 2 Team

LEWISBURG – Senior Audrey Dotson has been voted to the Capital One Academic All-District 2 Team for women's basketball, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.
Dotson joins American's Jen Dumiak as the only two Patriot League players to make the District 2 team. Both players are now candidates for national Academic All-America recognition, which will be voted on later this month.
The all-district recognition honors players who excel both on the court and in the classroom. In addition to being a senior leader on the Bison women's basketball team, Dotson earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in each of her first three seasons. She is a Dean's List student and carries a 3.55 GPA as a double major in economics and political science.
Dotson ranks 16th in program history with 1,161 points. She entered this season as a Preseason All-Patriot League selection after earning Second Team honors in the conference following last season. Dotson currently ranks in the top 10 in the conference in scoring, rebounding, blocked shots, field goal percentage, free throw percentage and offensive rebounds.
An all-around game has Dotson looked at as one of the top players in the conference. She has shown consistent defensive skills, as evident by her 111 career blocks, which ranks third in program history. She also prides herself on her ability to facilitate, coming in at second on the team in assists with 54 from her forward position.
