Women's Swimming & Diving up to Fourth Place at ECAC Championships

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Julianna Foss and Rachel McGoff each scored points in two individual events and four different Bison posted top-five finishes as the Bucknell women's swimming and diving team moved up to fourth place after the second day of the ECAC Championships Saturday at Pittsburgh's Trees Pool.
Foss led four Bison scorers with a fourth-place showing in the 100 fly. The freshman also placed seventh in the 100 back and was part of the fourth-place 200 medley relay with Rachel Perry, Diana Hanson and Caroline Edelman.
McGoff scored her points in the 100 fly (finished 15th) and the 200 free (14th).
The most impressive individual performance of the day went to freshman Dani Potis. The All-Patriot League selection finished second overall in the 200 free with the No. 2 time in program history in the event as she touched the wall in 1:49.53, just .40 shy of Lauren Perry's standard.
Paige Daniel was a third Bison scorer in the 200 free. She placed 10th with the No. 5 time (1:51.79) in program history. If she had competed in the “A” final, that time would have landed her in sixth place.
Sage Maggi (10th) and Emily Andrews (12th) joined Foss and McGoff as scorers in the 100 fly, while Rachel Perry was the team's top finisher (4th) in the 100 back, three spots ahead of Foss.
Senior Stephanie Koziol placed fifth in the 500 free and Gina Gautieri was 10th in the 100 breast to round out the list of Bison scorers on the day.
The 800 free relay of Laurena Zrada, Potis, Daniel and Koziol posted the eighth-best time (7:35.51) in school annals on their way to a third-place finish in their race.
The ECAC Championships will wrap up on Sunday. Prelims are scheduled for 9 a.m. Finals are slated for 4 p.m. with the last event concluding approximately 7:15 p.m.
