LEWISBURG, Pa. – It did not take long for the Bucknell baseball team to find alternative games for this weekend following Wednesday's cancellation of its three-game series at UNC Greensboro. The Bison will now be travelling to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for a three-game series against VCU. The games will be played at The Ripken Baseball Experience.
The weekend schedule includes a doubleheader starting Saturday at 5 p.m. with a single game at 1 p.m. slated for Sunday.
Bucknell is 1-1 on the young season having lost to Georgetown in its opening game last week before bouncing back and defeating Wake Forest on the road by a 16-12 margin.
VCU (1-1) also played at Wake Forest's tournament and lost to the host Demon Deacons. The Commodores did post a 6-3 win over the Hoyas in their opener.
The Bison's next scheduled games are a four-game series against Buffalo at Depew Field. Bucknell and the Bulls are slated to play doubleheaders on both Feb. 28 and March 1 starting at noon.
