LEWISBURG, Pa. – Both the Bucknell men's and women's cross country teams earned All-Academic honors from the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their performance in the classroom during the fall season.
Teams earned All-Academic distinction for posting an overall team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Bison women finished with a GPA of 3.52, while the men earned a GPA of 3.30.
“This is an honor that exemplifies what collegiate athletics should be all about,” said Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner. “These student-athletes spend numerous hours training, racing and traveling, yet they have formed such tremendous time management skills to earn an outstanding team grade point average. My staff and I are very proud of the balance that these student-athletes show between their academic success and their running.”
Both teams were successful in competition, as well, as each took second at the Patriot League Championships. The women went on to finish eighth at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships, while the men finished 10th.
