Men's Swimming and Diving Posts 2-1 Record in Quad Meet at Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell men's swimming and diving team posted a 2-1 record in a quad meet with host Navy, Lafayette and American on Saturday at Lejeune Hall. The Bison posted a 218-78 win over Lafayette and a 234-53 victory over American, while falling to Navy 188-104.
Bucknell, which improved to 2-3 on the season, won four events overall. Junior Louis Behnen paced the Bison with a pair of first-place finishes. He won the 1000 free with a time of 9:23.66, touching the wall just three-tenths of a second before Navy's Alex Nickell. He added a title in the 500 free, taking first among scored swimmers with a time of 4:36.89. He was followed in the event by teammates Denver Freeman, Sam Rutan and Brian Phillips.
Sophomore Chris Devlin beat all scored swimmers in the 100 IM with a time of 53.28. He added a runner-up finish in the 200 back, and was followed by teammate Will Rappaport in third.
The Bison added a victory in the 200 free relay. Charlie McFarland, Jack Robinson, JT Nangle and Steve Grune made up the relay, which finished in 1:25.41.
Every event was won by swimmers from either Navy or Bucknell. The Bison improved to 52-4 in the all-time series with Lafayette and 9-3 in the series with American.
Bucknell now turns its attention to the Bucknell Invitational, which it will host at Kinney Natatorium on Nov. 20-22.
