Devlin Paces Bison Men on Second Day of Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Chris Devlin placed in the top 10 in three events Saturday at the Bucknell Invitational, leading the Bison to a fourth-place standing after two days of competition. The event wraps up on Sunday.
Devlin took fifth in the 100 back, seventh in the 400 IM and was on the 200 medley relay team that finished seventh. He holds the program record in both individual events and was on the team that owns the second-fastest time in the relay.
Devlin was joined on the 200 medley relay team by junior Sam Mackie, sophomore Triston Loux and senior Steve Grune. The group finished in 1:33.40.
Junior Louis Behnen was three spots ahead of Devlin in the 400 IM, taking fourth with a time of 4:00.13. He owns the program's third-fastest time in the event.
Behnen also helped the 800 free relay team to a fourth-place finish. He was joined by junior Jack Robinson, sophomore Sam Rutan and junior Denver Freeman. The Bison finished in 6:49.90.
Rounding out the top-10 finishers for the Bison on the day was Robinson in the 200 free. He took sixth in the event with a time of 1:41.37, after qualifying for the finals with a time of 1:41.11 in the prelims.
Bucknell was fourth after one day of competition and remained in that spot in the nine-team field after the second day. William & Mary leads with 1,028 points, while Buffalo is second with 927.5 Connecticut is in third with 654 points, one spot ahead of the Bison who have 519.5. La Salle (442), Georgetown (359), Binghamton (296), Fordham (255) and Delaware (17) round out the field.
Competition resumes with the 200 back at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The finals will begin at 5 p.m.
