LEWISBURG, Pa. – Maddie Dano, a member of the Bucknell women's soccer team, was named Corvias Patriot League Rookie of the Week for her efforts over the weekend.
Dano played a key roll on the Bucknell back line in the team's 1-0 win over Army West Point. The freshman defender logged a career-best 64 minutes in helping the team preserve their 10th shutout of the season and become the second squad in program history to finish with an unbeaten home record (7-0-1).
Bucknell (10-5-3, 6-1-2 PL) has now held its opponents scoreless for a program record 479.50 consecutive minutes. The team's five straight shutouts are a team record, along with their eight-game unbeaten streak.
Dano is the second freshman this season to garner league rookie honors. She is also the fifth Bucknell women's soccer player to earn Patriot League weekly accolades this year.
The Bison have claimed the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League Tournament, earning a bye in the quarterfinal round. Bucknell will travel to Boston to play its semifinal match on Friday. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
