Kiersten Sydnor Named Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior Kiersten Sydnor has been named the 5th Quarter Fresh Bison Athlete of the Week after scoring four goals in three games for the Bucknell field hockey team last week. The Bison went 2-1 on the week, including home wins over Colgate and Saint Joseph's.
Sydnor scored three goals in two days to lead the Bison to a pair of wins over the weekend. She scored two goals and assisted on another in a 6-0 shutout over Colgate on Saturday and tacked on a late goal in a 4-2 win over visiting Saint Joseph's on Sunday. The Bison have won eight straight league games and are unbeaten in their past three home games.
Sydnor opened the week with Bucknell's lone goal in a 2-1 loss at Lock Haven on Tuesday, The goal came against a Bald Eagles defense that entered the week ranked first in the Atlantic 10 in goals allowed.
Bucknell will be on the road for two games this weekend. The Bison will play at Lafayette in a key Patriot League matchup at noon on Saturday, and will take on Temple at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
