LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's swimming and diving team swept the Corvias Patriot League weekly awards for the second time this season, as Chris Devlin was named the Swimmer of the Week and Tyler Wenzel was voted the Diver of the Week on Monday.
Devlin had the fastest time among 11 swimmers in the 400 IM in Bucknell's home meet against Pittsburgh on Saturday, touching the wall in 4:02.63. He was more than four seconds faster than anyone else in the event. The sophomore added a runner-up finish in the 200 free and led the Bison 400-medley relay team to a first-place showing with a time of 3:27.66.
Bucknell has had just three meets so far this season, and Wenzel has now been named the Patriot League Diver of the Week twice. He finished as the runner-up in both diving events in Saturday's dual meet. The senior recorded a score of 295.80 in the 3-meter, which was the fourth best mark in Bucknell history. He added another second-place finish with his score of 276.68 on the 1-meter board.
The Bison will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 7, when they travel to Annapolis, Maryland for a quad meet with Navy, American and Lafayette.
