Men's Swimming and Diving Hosts Pittsburgh on Saturday

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's swimming and diving team returns to Kinney Natatorium for a non-conference dual meet against Pittsburgh on Saturday, The 16th all-time meeting between the teams is scheduled for a noon start time.
Bucknell is 0-1 on the year after two meets, which included an unscored event against UMBC at home and a Patriot League loss at Boston University. Louis Behnen has won three of the six individual events in which he has competed, taking first in the 200 free and 400 IM against the Retrievers and in the 500 free against the Terriers.
Chris Devlin and Tyler Wenzel have contributed two individual wins apiece this year, while Brian Phillips added one title for the Bison. The 400 free relay team made up of Vincent Filippini, Behnen, Jack Robinson and Sam Rutan won against UMBC.
Bucknell and Pittsburgh will meet for the third straight year after renewing a series that had been dormant since the 1978-79 season. The Panthers lead the series 9-6 after a 189.5-109.5 win over the Bison in last year's matchup at Pittsburgh's Trees Pool. Behnen won two events and was the runner-up in another. He was one of three Bison swimmers to finish in the top four of the 500 free, followed by Devlin in second and Phillips in fourth.
Pittsburgh opened the season with a pair of losses, falling to Atlantic Coast Conference opponents Duke and Georgia Tech. The Panthers finished 10th in the ACC last season and sixth in the ECAC. They return Dominic Giordano, an NCAA qualifying diver last season.
Including Saturday's meet, Bucknell will be at Kinney Natatorium for its next three events. The Bison will host Lafayette, American and Navy for a quad meet on Saturday, Nov. 7, and will host the Bucknell Invitational on Nov. 20-22. They will not compete on the road again until a meet at Army West Point on Saturday, Jan. 9.
