Women's Golf Opens with 334 at Dayton Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio -- Led by an 81 from Jen Lee, the Bucknell women's golf team began play Monday at the Dayton Flyer Invitational with a team score of 334. The Bison are in 11th place out of 15 teams, ahead of Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Detroit, IPFW and Eastern Illinois.
Lee made a team-high nine pars in her opening round, and she sits in a tie for 30th place at the halfway point of the tournament. Katie Childers is one shot behind Lee after posting an 82. Emily Larson followed with an 84, followed by Lindsay Dodovich with an 87 and Graysen Bright with an 89.
Grand Valley State compiled a 304 to take the overnight lead by three strokes over Indianapolis and four over Findlay. Bucknell is two shots behind Evansville for 10th place.
All 90 players in the field shot over par on a cool day at NCR Country Club. Kasey Petty of Findlay set the pace with a 1-over 71. Elle Nichols of Oakland and Gabrielle Shipley of Grand Valley State are both one shot back.
