PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomore Timber Erskine finished as the runner-up in the Whitman Draw and sophomore Max Kane won the consolation bracket of the Pagoda Draw as the Bucknell men's tennis team concluded play at Princeton's Farnsworth Invitational on Sunday.
Erskine went 3-1 on the weekend, including a 7-6 (5), 6-4 loss to Drexel's Daniel Ginzburg in the championship match. He had posted wins over Drexel's Vuk Subotic, Georgetown's Ryan McElvenny and Fairleigh Dickinson's William Bourne to advance to the finals.
Kane also finished with a 3-1 record, including a pair of wins in the consolation bracket. He opened consolation play with a three-set win over Lehigh's Jack Petersen, who played No. 2 singles for the Mountain Hawks last season. He advanced to the consolation final via walkover, and then went three sets again in a victory over Marist's Dylan Fletcher, an All-MAAC selection at the third doubles position last year.
