LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell freshman center Nana Foulland earned his first career Lids Team Sports Patriot League Rookie of the Week Award on Monday. Foulland is the second Bison newcomer to receive the honor this season, as guard J.C. Show was named Rookie of the Week on Dec. 1.
Foulland has started every game this season for Bucknell, and his production has increased as the season has progressed. His best game to date came this past Saturday at Colgate, when he scored a career-high 17 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field. Foulland also grabbed five rebounds and handed out an assist in a 68-62 road loss.
In a 57-47 victory over American earlier in the week, Foulland was limited to 19 minutes due to foul trouble, but he still managed nine points, five rebounds, a block and a steal. He hit 4 of 6 shots in that game and shot 64.7 percent from the field for the week.
Foulland is now Bucknell's second-leading scorer on the season, averaging 8.1 points per game after hitting double digits in six of his last nine contests. He is shooting 52.1 percent on the year -- the sixth-best mark in the Patriot League -- while averaging 4.7 rebounds per game.
After splitting its first two league games last week, the Bison will take a 1-1 PL record into Wednesday night's home game against Lafayette.
