Swimming & Diving Wraps Up Regular Season Saturday at Home

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The final meet of the regular season has arrived for the Bucknell swimming and diving teams. The unscored Bison Invite will take place Saturday, Jan. 31, at Kinney Natatorium and will mark the final event for Bucknell until the Patriot League Championships, which will take place Feb. 18-21 at Kinney.
The Bison Invite begins at 10:30 a.m. and will consist of two sessions with at least a 30-minute break between them. Live results will be available via BucknellBison.com.
Student-athletes from nine different schools are expected to compete at the Bison Invite. Bucknell will be joined by fellow Patriot League schools American, Lafayette, Loyola and Navy (women only) in addition to Seton Hall, Shippensburg and Towson. Penn State is also expected to send a partial squad.
Bucknell's men completed the dual meet portion of the schedule with a 7-4 overall mark and were 5-2 against Patriot League foes. It is the second straight year the Bison have reached the seven-win plateau. The last time Bucknell had more victories in a season was 1997-98.
The Bison women were also 7-4 with a 4-3 record against Patriot League opponents. They are now 15-6 over the last two years, their most wins in a two-year span since 1997-98 and 1998-99 (17).
Following this weekend, Bucknell will have about two-and-one-half weeks to gear up for the Patriot League Championships. The event will be held at Kinney Natatorium for the seventh time since the facility opened in 2003.
