Men's Lacrosse First-Year Class Ranked No. 13 by Inside Lacrosse

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell men's lacrosse coach Frank Fedorjaka has been high on this year's first-year class, and Inside Lacrosse agrees, ranking it the 13th-most-promising freshman class in the nation in its annual rankings. In addition, three players – No. 49 Will Sands, No. 80 Sean O'Brien and No. 82 Matt Gilray – were listed among the top 100 newcomers in the country by Inside Lacrosse.
This is the highest-ranked class in program history and also the first time that Bucknell has had as many as three incoming recruits ranked in the top 100 by Inside Lacrosse. All told, the Bison welcome 13 first-year student-athletes to the roster this season, and they encompass a wide variety of positions and skills.
“The 2014 class is very well-balanced and has impact players at every position,” said Fedorjaka.

Jake Dunlop | Faceoff Specialist | 6-0, 181 | Gaithersburg, Md./Wootton
Born March 10, 1996 in Rockville, Md. … parents are John Dunlop and Nancy Hadad … has two older brothers, Alex and Peter … earned three varsity letters in lacrosse and one in football at Wootton High School … All-Met honorable mention as a senior … played in MSLCA All-Star Game … first team all-county and all-division as a junior … as a senior recorded 22 goals and 158 ground balls and won 77 percent of his faceoffs … team finished 17-1 and reached the state semifinals in 2014 … team advanced to the regional final his sophomore and junior year … played club lacrosse for Southern Maryland Select.

Matt Gilray | Defense | 6-3, 197 | Oshawa, Ontario/Brewster Academy (N.H.)
Inside Lacrosse No. 82 on list of top 100 recruits … Born May 11, 1995 in Oshawa, Ontario … parents are Paul and Pat Gilray … has one older brother, Josh … lettered four times in lacrosse and three times in hockey at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire … captain of the lacrosse team as a senior … 2014 All-America selection … part of three NNELL championship teams … in 2014 recorded 10 goals, 16 assists and 129 ground balls … 26 points were a school record for a defenseman … played club lacrosse for Edge Lacrosse and NESLL … all-star pick at Canadian Nationals and 2011 Ontario Defenseman of the Year.
Frank Fedorjaka on Gilray: “Matt has a knack for scooping ground balls and picking off passes. He will take a lot of wings on faceoffs, and it will be fun to watch Matt and Alex Spring together in that role.”
Sam Hahn | Faceoff Specialist | 5-8, 190 | Westport, Conn./Berkshire School (Mass.)
Born July 4, 1996 in Norwalk, Conn. … son of Arthur and Leslie Hahn … has one brother, Jesse … cousin of Jon Romm '90, who is No. 5 on Bucknell's all-time points list with 179 … 2014 graduate of Berkshire School in Sheffield, Mass. … played varsity football, hockey and lacrosse … earned All-New England honors in lax and was named an Under Armour Underclass All-American in 2013 … won 70 percent of his faceoffs with 90 ground balls as a senior and 65 percent with 75 GBs as a junior … also played club lacrosse for NESLL and won 85 percent of his draws … helped lead the Berkshire hockey team with a third-place finish in New England during his senior year.

Joe Kazar | Midfield | 6-1, 194 | Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South
Born Apr. 21, 1996 in Wheaton, Ill. … parents are Tom and Denise Kazar … brother Jacob plays lacrosse at Air Force … earned three letters in lacrosse and two in football at Wheaton-Warrenville South High School … captained both teams as a senior … two-time all-conference selection in lacrosse … 2014 Illinois All-Star … played midfield and LSM as a senior and collected 25 goals and 48 ground balls … helped lead his team two four conference championships, a state semifinal appearance in 2012 and a quarterfinal appearance in 2013 … played with the Midwest Select at the 2014 Vail Shootout, which made the final four … played with the True Lacrosse Illinois State Team and was a Denver Shootout All-Star.

Born Aug. 22, 1996 in Annapolis, Md. … parents are Andy and Page Linden … has two younger brothers, Jacob and Luke … parents are both 1992 Bucknell graduates … father was a starting defenseman on the Bison lacrosse team … played lacrosse and football at Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md. … lacrosse team captain … Second Team All-Anne Arundel County as a senior … played linebacker in football … finished in the top 10 in his class with a 4.532 weighted GPA.

Born June 30, 1995 in Darien, Conn. … son of Curtis Reed … has one brother, George … father played football and lacrosse at Dartmouth … 2014 graduate of Darien High School, where he earned four letters in lacrosse and three in football … played attack in lacrosse and was a two-time all-state and All-FCIAC selection … helped lead team to two state titles and two league titles … team went 23-0 his senior year and was ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 4 in the nation … in football played safety and slot receiver and earned All-FCIAC honors as a senior, when the team finished second in the state playoffs … played club lacrosse for the Connecticut Chargers.

Duke Repko | Midfielder | 5-10, 172 | New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan/Deerfield Academy (Mass.)
Born Oct. 17, 1994 in Stamford, Conn. … son of Bill and Susie Repko … has three older brothers, Boomer, Thomas and Parker, who all played college lacrosse … Boomer played at Denver and Bowdoin, while Thomas and Parker both played at Bates … father played lacrosse at Lehigh … graduated from New Canaan High School in 2013 and then spent a postgraduate year at Deerfield Academy … competed in football, track and lacrosse in high school … first team all-state selection as a senior and second-team all-league pick as a sophomore (missed junior year due to injury) … recorded 22 goals and 18 assists as a senior and had 15 goals and 17 assists as a sophomore … team was state runner-up in 2011 and won league titles in 2012 and 2013 … played club lax for the NE Storm and CT Rip-IT.
