LEWISBURG, Pa. – Stefan Aleksic scored a season-high-tying four goals and registered a season-high six points to lead the Bucknell men's water polo team to an 11-10 victory over No. 20 George Washington Saturday evening at Kinney Natatorium. The Bison defeated the nationally ranked Colonials for the second time in eight days as they improved to 5-5, 3-2 CWPA Southern Division. George Washington fell to 6-4, 0-3 CWPA Southern Division.
Neither team led by more than two goals the entire game and Bucknell did not take its first lead (5-4) until 5:25 remained in the second quarter. The Bison took the lead for good when Aleksic netted his final goal with 1:20 play in the third period to put them up 9-8.
Fourth-quarter goals by Jeff Hagen and Sean Daley cemented the victory for Bucknell. George Washington did have a final possession inside of 15 seconds, but was unable to convert.
Freshman Grant Curry helped shoulder the offensive load with Aleksic as he scored three goals. That duo recorded seven of the team's nine goals over the first three periods. Hagen posted two goals, while Daley and Nate Hunter had one apiece.
Keegan Williams stopped 10 shots in goals for Bucknell. He is now just seven saves shy of 100 on the season.

The Bison will have another conference game Sunday, but that one will be on the road. They will play at No. 12 Princeton at 3 p.m. Bucknell is 2-3 opposite ranked foes this year with both wins coming against George Washington.
