Men?s Tennis Successful on First Day at Saint Joseph?s

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Bucknell men's tennis team started strong at the Saint Joseph's Invitational on Friday. The Bison won eight out of nine matches they participated in, and are set to play in a total of 11 matches in the next round.
Standout Nick Bybel defeated Drexel's Xabier Saavedra, 6-2, 6-0. He and freshman Maxwell Kane won in Flight 1 doubles against Brian Balico and Mark Robinson from La Salle, 8-1.
Sophomore Bryan Adams beat Saint Joseph's Clark Ruiz. Freshmen Ben Gerber, Timber Erskine and William Szamosszegi all recorded first-round wins in the first road tournament of their young careers.
Senior Octavio Canibe partnered up with Gerber to defeat Mason Keel and Ted Morgan from Lafayette, 9-8 (1). Adams and freshman Dan Wright also won in Flight 1 doubles.
Round two is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph's University.
