LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell women's soccer coach Ben Landis has relied heavily on his depth thus far in 2014, and one of those "Super Subs" was honored with Corvias Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday. Freshman forward Kendall Ham, who recorded three goals and an assist in Bucknell's perfect 3-0 week, earned the first Patriot League honor of her career.
Ham started the week by piling up two goals and an assist in Bucknell's 7-1 rout of Mount St. Mary's last Tuesday. She was kept scoreless in a 1-0 win at Stetson on Friday, and then on Sunday afternoon she scored the go-ahead goal in the 69th minute of a 2-1 win over defending Atlantic Sun champion Jacksonville.
Part of a large and productive forward rotation, Ham is averaging 35.5 minutes per game this season, and yet she is the team's leading scorer with 10 points on four goals and two assists. She ranks second on the team in shot attempts with 17, seven of which came in Sunday's victory at Jacksonville.
Ham also ranks second in the Patriot League in both goals and points. Earlier this season she had a goal and an assist in a 2-0 win at Monmouth, the defending MAAC champion.
Ham's twin sister, Jackie Ham, is also an important reserve midfielder for the Bison this season. Jackie has scored a pair of goals to help Bucknell to a 5-3 start.
Bucknell will now take a four-game winning streak into its Patriot League opener this Saturday at Army at 5 p.m.
