Football Preseason Practice Schedule

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell football team is now less than three weeks from the opening of preseason practice. The Bison open camp Monday, Aug. 4, with conditioning testing at 4 p.m.
Bucknell will practice 21 straight days before taking Aug. 25 off. The first day of classes is Aug. 27 and the season opener is Aug. 30 against VMI at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
Bison fifth-year head coach Joe Susan has scheduled scrimmages for Aug. 16 (10:15 a.m.) and Aug. 20 (5 p.m.).
The majority of practice sessions will take place in the afternoon, beginning at 3:45 p.m.
Bucknell's Aug. 30 game vs. VMI is the first of five home contests for the Bison in 2014. Bucknell will also host Cornell (Sept. 27), Lafayette (Nov. 1), Fordham (Nov. 7) and Colgate (Nov. 22). The Cornell game is on Family Weekend, while the Lafayette contest is on Homecoming. The Fordham game will be televised live on CBS Sports Network and will take place on a Friday, marking the first non-Saturday contest for the Bison since 2004.
Bucknell returns 17 regular starters and six All-Patriot League players from last year's squad that defeated nationally ranked Lehigh and won five of its final six games. Seniors Lee Marvel and Matthew Steinbeck are this year's team captains.
