LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced a number of awards this week and nine members of the Bucknell women's rowing program were recognized. Amanda Chikowski, Andrea Seifert and Victoria Kielty were named to the CRCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Teams, while Margo Boyd, Charlotte Brace, Jennifer Fish, Annie Goldman, Kathleen Hickes and Kumari Lewis were named CRCA National Scholar-Athletes.
Chikowski and Seifert were named to the All-Mid-Atlantic First Team, while Kielty was a member of the Second Team. A three-time All-Patriot League selection, Chikowski is now a two-time CRCA All-Region pick after earning second-team honors as a freshman in 2012. Seifert, also a junior, was a First Team All-Patriot League choice earlier this month. Both Seifert and Chikowski were members of the varsity eight.
Kielty, a senior who also rowed as part of the varsity eight, earned her first career CRCA award.
Five of Bucknell's six CRCA National Scholar-Athletes are repeat selections with Fish and Goldman receiving recognition for the third consecutive year. Boyd, Hickes and Lewis were recognized for the second straight year, while Brace was honored for the first time.
Boyd, who was an Academic All-Patriot League choice earlier this month, Goldman and Lewis were members of the second varsity eight at the Patriot League Championships, while All-Patriot League selection Hickes was the coxswain of the varsity eight. Brace and Fish row with the lightweights.
In order to be named a CRCA National Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average and be at least a sophomore.
Six of the nine Bison recognized by the CRCA will return to Bucknell in 2014-15.
