LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell junior Margo Boyd (Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) was named to the 11-person Women's Rowing Academic All-Patriot League Team, the league office announced Thursday. Boyd was part of the Bison second varsity eight that finished second in the Grand Final at last week's Patriot League Championship.
A mathematics major with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average, Boyd was a 2013 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athlete, has been on the Dean's List multiple times and is a two-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. She was inducted into Pi Mu Epsilon for mathematics as a sophomore and was nominated for Patriot League Women's Rowing Scholar-Athlete this spring.
Boyd rowed predominantly in the two-seat as a member of the second varsity eight this season. The boat won gold at the Murphy Cup and Dad Vail Regatta and had silver medal showings at the Knecht Cup and Patriot League Championship. It was 3-1 in dual races.
This was Boyd's second year as a member of the second varsity eight. She rowed as part of the freshman eight as a rookie in 2012.
Bucknell placed third in the team standings at last week's Patriot League Championship.
