BEDMINSTER, N.J. -- The Bucknell women's golf team compiled a 325 team score on Sunday -- 30 strokes better than its first-round tally -- and moved up four positions to a 12th-place finish at the Pirate Invitational, hosted by Seton Hall at Trump National GC. Bridget Wilcox paced the Bison with a final-round 78.
Wilcox fashioned a birdie and 10 pars in her Sunday round. Lauren Bernard followed with an 80 for the Bison. Emily Timmons shot 82, Kasha Scott 85 and Meghan Garanich 92.
The competition was fierce for both the team and individual championships. Columbia (631) edged Yale by just one shot (632) for the team title, with Princeton (635) and St. John's (636) also within five strokes of the lead.
Bucknell finished with a 680 total and finished ahead of Central Connecticut, Siena, Brown, Hofstra and Sacred Heart. New Patriot League rival Boston University finished 10th with a team score of 668.
Columbia's Michelle Piyapattra defeated St. John's Anna Kim on the second playoff hole to claim the individual title. Both players were four-over par for the tournament.
The Bison will close out the 2013-14 season at the Patriot League Championship on Apr. 19-20 at Saucon Valley CC.
