Expanded PL Swimming & Diving Championships Begin Wednesday in Annapolis

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Thanks to the addition of Boston U. and Loyola (Md.) to the Patriot League this year, the league's competitive Swimming & Diving Championship will begin this Wednesday, one day earlier than has been the norm. Navy's Lejeune Hall is the host site this year and the four-day meet will begin Wednesday evening and run through Saturday. Prelims each day are slated for 10:30 a.m., while each night's finals are scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday afternoon will feature the women's three-meter diving trials.
Bucknell's men posted a 7-3, 5-1 Patriot League mark during the dual meet portion of their schedule, equaling their most victories in head coach Dan Schinnerer's eight campaigns. The Bison placed third at last year's meet at Kinney Natatorium and have had eight consecutive top-three finishes. Bucknell was picked to finish fourth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
The Bison women were 8-2 overall during the regular season, including a perfect 6-0 opposite Patriot League foes. Bucknell's eight wins were its most since the 1997-98 campaign. The Bison were picked to finish second in the Patriot League Preseason Poll and earned four first-place votes. They are coming off a second-place finish at last year's meet that was highlighted by a school record-tying seven individual titles.
