Wills and Keen Earn Patriot League Field Hockey Weekly Awards

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Anna Wills and junior Shannon Keen led a great defensive effort by the Bucknell field hockey team in two wins over the weekend. The two have been rewarded for their play as Wills was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week and Keen was selected as the Goalkeeper of the Week.
Wills scored a goal and Keen stopped five of the six shots she faced in Bucknell's 4-1 win at Lehigh on Friday. With the win, the Bison clinched the program's first outright Patriot League regular season title with a perfect 6-0 record. All four Bison goals came in the second half.
Wills played a key role on Saturday as Bucknell recorded its seventh shutout of the season with a 2-0 win over visiting Lock Haven on Senior Day. The Bison didn't allow a shot on goal for the third time this season. They improved to 12-5 overall to complete the program's best regular season record since the 1977 team went 8-2-2.
Keen, who has two Goalkeeper of the Week awards this season, has six solo shutouts and played the majority of the game in a seventh. With at least one more game remaining – against Colgate in the Patriot League semifinals on Friday at Graham Field – Keen's six shutouts rank as the third-best single season mark in program history. She also ranksThe Bison will host the four-team Patriot League Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Graham Field. Following their game with fourth-seeded Colgate at 11 a.m., second-seeded and nationally-ranked Boston University will take on third-seeded American at 2 p.m. The championship game will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.
