Clarke Fox Named Patriot League Goalkeeper of Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Junior Clarke Fox earned his first career Corvias Patriot League Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honor on Monday after leading the Bison to two shutout victories over league opponents.
The Bison blanked Lafayette 2-0 at home and Holy Cross 1-0 on the road last week, and the six points were enough to clinch a Patriot League Tournament berth with one game still to play in the regular season. Fox played all 180 minutes and made three saves in each match.
Fox has played in 11 games with nine starts this season, and he ran his record to 5-3-1 with four shutouts. Fox ranks fourth in the Patriot League in goals against average (0.80). He has 28 saves with only eight goals against on the season.
Senior Brian Ward and junior Jesse Klug were named to this week's Patriot League Honor Roll. Ward helped key the defensive effort in the two shutout wins, while Klug scored a goal against Lafayette and assisted on the winning goal at Holy Cross.
Bucknell is now 8-9-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the Patriot League. The Bison are tied for fourth place with Lehigh with 13 points. The top two seeds will receive quarterfinal byes at the Patriot League Tournament, while the third and fourth seeds will host quarterfinal games. Boston University has clinched the top spot and will host the semifinals and championship round, and the Terriers will play at Bucknell on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Emmitt Field.
