LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell sophomore Sebastiaan Blickman earned Bison Athlete of the Week honors on Monday after leading the men's soccer team to a 3-2 overtime victory over top-seeded Boston University in the Patriot League championship game on Sunday. Blickman scored his first two career goals in that match, including the OT winner, en route to Tournament MVP honors.
Blickman snapped a 1-1 tie in the 54th minute, heading in a Chris Thorsheim free kick. The Terriers tied the game in the 70th minute and forced overtime, but just 1:54 into sudden-death overtime, Blickman flicked home a headed pass from Jack Zollicoffer, sending the Bison to their fourth Patriot League title and seventh NCAA Tournament appearance.
Blickman did all of that not far from his hometown of Lincoln, Massachusetts.
The Bison will take a 10-9-3 record in the NCAA Tournament, which gets underway on Thursday. Bucknell travels to UNC Wilmington for a first-round match at 7 p.m. at UNCW Soccer Stadium.
