McGowan and Dugan Selected to Academic All-Patriot League Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior cross country runners Michael McGowan and John Dugan both earned spots on the Academic All-Patriot League Team, which are voted on by the conference's sports information directors. The pair becomes the first Bison men's runners to make the team since Dan Dillon in 2011.
An economics major with a 3.25 GPA, McGowan is a Dean's List student and member of the Patriot League Honor Roll. He recently earned First Team All-Patriot League honors for the second straight year with a second-place finish at the conference meet. He had numerous other solid performances this season, including taking ninth out of 264 runners at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational and 32nd out of 301 competitors at the Princeton Invitational.
A Dean's List student and member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, Dugan carries a 3.34 GPA as a double major in economics and biology. He has had an outstanding career for the Bison, earning All-Patriot League honors three times despite missing most of the season, including the conference championships, his junior year. The former Patriot League Rookie of the Year was also an all-region runner as a sophomore.
Dugan's highlights this season include a runner-up finish out of 117 runners at the Detroit Mercy Invitational and an impressive 17th out of 301 athletes at the Princeton Invitational. Competing in his final Patriot League Championships, he took 13th to earn Second Team status.
