LEWISBURG, Pa. – Fresh off its 5-0 trip to California, the No. 12 Bucknell men's water polo team hosted No. 9 Princeton Saturday afternoon at Kinney Natatorium and saw its seven-game winning streak come to an end as it lost by a 10-8 margin to the Tigers. The Bison completed their regular season 12-7, 4-4 CWPA.
Grant Curry led Bucknell with three goals, while Sean Daley added two goals and an assist. However, the Bison converted just one of three penalty shots and their only lead was at 1-0 in the first quarter.
Freshman Jordan Colina led Princeton (18-3, 7-1 CWPA) with five goals.
A Curry goal with 5:38 to play in the second quarter brought Bucknell to within one goal (4-3), but the Tigers scored the final two goals of the half and the Bison drew no closer than two goals the rest of the way.
Senior goalie Keegan Williams, who was honored along with classmate Ken Wattana during pregame Senior Day ceremonies, posted eight saves in the game.
Next up for Bucknell is next weekend's Southern Championships at Princeton. Seeding for the event is still to be determined with a Navy-Johns Hopkins league contest still to be contested Saturday evening in Annapolis. The Southern Championships will run Nov. 7-9.
