Field Hockey Drops Road Game at No. 10 Syracuse, 4-0

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Bucknell field hockey team dropped to 1-3 against nationally-ranked opponents this season with a 4-0 loss at No. 10 Syracuse on Sunday afternoon.
The Orange improved to 12-4 overall, with all of their losses coming to nationally-ranked teams. The Bison fell to 10-5 overall and are 5-5 against non-conference opponents.
Syracuse, which scored twice in each half, received two goals from Lies Lagerweij, her second and third of the season. Lauren Brooks scored her eighth goal of the season just over eight minutes into the first half, and Emma Russell scored for the 12th time this year to complete the scoring in the second half.
Bucknell goalie Shannon Keen faced 11 shots on goal and finished with seven saves. Jess Jecko and Rebecca Congel each saw time in goal for Syracuse. Jecko made the Orange's lone save.
The Bison will wrap up the regular season with two games next weekend. They will play at Lehigh on Saturday with a chance to clinch the first outright Patriot League regular season title in program history, and will host Lock Haven for Senior Day on Sunday.
