LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell swimming and diving teams will compete in their first scored meet of the season this Saturday when they host George Washington and Patriot League competitor Boston University at Kinney Natatorium in a double dual. The start time for the meet is at 1 p.m.
Bucknell competed against George Washington individually a season ago, leaving Washington D.C., with the 165-91 win on the men's side and 140-122 win on the women's side. Both Bucknell squads are 3-0 all-time against Colonials. Saturday will be their first regular-season dual meet with Boston University.
Both Bison teams opened their season two weeks ago with an unscored meet against UMBC for the eighth straight year. On the men's side, Chris Devlin opened his collegiate career with a sweep in the 100 and 200 backstrokes in addition to a victory in the 200 free. Devlin set two new program top-10 times in the process.
Ben Seketa (100 breast, 200 breast), Louis Behnen (400 IM), Triston Loux (50 fly, 100 fly) and Colin Lynch (50 back) helped the Bucknell reach nine total victories on the day.
On the women's side, Emma Levendoski and Julianna Foss both earned victories in each of their three individual races. A four-time Patriot League backstroke champion, Levendoski continued her excellence in the pool with convincing wins in the 50, 100, and 200. Foss started her career at Bucknell off strong with triumphs in the 50, 100, and 200 fly.
The Bison earned 11 total victories against UMBC, with Lauren Perry (200 free), Amber McDonnell (400 IM), Ashley Henderson (100 breast), Dani Potis (1,000 free) and Katie Hetherington (one-meter diving) all contributing to that total.
Bucknell's teams are coming off a strong performance a year ago, as the women and men finished in second and fourth place, respectively, at the Patriot League Championships. Three All-Patriot League members return this year for the men's team while eight are back for the women's team.
Both Bucknell squads will next be in action when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 25, for a matchup with the Panthers. It will be the first road meet of the season for the Bison.
