Swimming & Diving Travels to Army Saturday, Closes Home Schedule Sunday

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The regular season is winding down for the Bucknell swimming and diving teams, which have two dual meets this weekend, including their final home meet of the campaign. The Bison travel to West Point, N.Y., for a 1 p.m. Patriot League matchup at Army on Saturday. Twenty-four hours later they will host Binghamton in Kinney Natatorium with Senior Day ceremonies to precede.
Bucknell will recognize 12 seniors (seven women, five men) prior to Sunday's meet. The men's seniors have helped the Bison post a 12-8 home record in Kinney Natatorium over the last four years, while the women are 13-7 at home over the same span. Bucknell's 12 seniors are Melissa Besman, Jennifer Brennan, Matt Hadley, Edward Jew, Mike Nicholson, Kelly Pontecorvo, Kristen Purdy, Trevor Reitz, Alyssa Rollando, Kaitlyn Utkewicz, Daniel Wallace and Emily Wright.
Bucknell's men are 5-2 this season and are coming off a 172-127 home loss to Columbia this past Saturday. The Bison have won four of their last five meets and with wins in each of their final three duals can reach eight victories for the first time since 1997-98.
Army's men bring a 2-3 record into Saturday's meet, while the Binghamton men are 0-2 and will be competing for the first time since participating in November's Bucknell Invitational at Kinney Natatorium.
The Bucknell women have matched the men's 5-2 record this season. The Bison were last in action on Saturday and lost to Rutgers by a 184.5-110 score at home. With wins in each of their final three duals, they can post their most wins since going 11-2 in 1997-98.
Army's women are 2-3 this season and are coming off a mid-December loss to Navy. Binghamton's women are 1-1 this year and finished in sixth place at the Bucknell Invitational in late November.
Both Bucknell squads will attempt to improve to 5-0 this season against Patriot League foes when they face Army on Saturday.
Bucknell Men vs. Weekend Opponents:
Army: Bucknell is 5-22 all-time against Army. The Bison last defeated the Black Knights in 2011-12 at Crandall Pool. Army won last year's meeting 165-135 at Kinney Natatorium.
Binghamton: Bucknell and Binghamton met for the first time last December with the Bison winning 171-128 in Kinney Natatorium.
Bucknell Women vs. Weekend Opponents:
Army: Bucknell is 16-4 all-time against Army and has won the last 12 meetings, including a 189-106 decision last January.
Binghamton: Bucknell won the first meeting in series history last December by a 215-85 margin in Kinney Natatorium.
