Football Places 32 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Derek Maurer, Tracey Smith and Kyle Sullivan were members of the Academic All-Patriot League Football Team this past fall and on Friday were announced as three of the 32 Bison named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Bucknell ranked second in the league with its 32 honorees.

The Bison set a program record with 32 players recognized, beating out 31 from 2009 and 2010. Included in the honorees were perfect 4.0 grade-point averages by Maurer and Bobby Kaslander.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's fall championship sports.

A total of 165 football student-athletes across the league were on the Academic Honor Roll. Holy Cross (37) was the only other team over 30 honorees.
