LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell sophomore Emma Levendoski (Mandeville, La./Mandeville) was named the Patriot League Female Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. It is the fourth time this season the 2013 Patriot League Champion in the 100 and 200 backstrokes earned the award.
The school record-holder in both backstroke events, Levendoski swept the backstroke races in a 50-point dual meet win at Lehigh on Saturday. It marked the eighth time this season she has swept the backstroke events in a meet. Levendoski captured the 100 back by 1.85 seconds and the 200 back by 1.91 seconds. Her time of 57.32 in the 100 back set a Jacobs Pool record.
Levendoski against the Mountain Hawks also swam the leadoff leg of the second-place 200 medley relay.
One of four Bucknell swimmers to win two events against Lehigh, Levendoski has competed in the 100 back 10 times this season and has nine victories, while she has piled up 10 first-place finishes in 11 tries in the 200 back. She has not finished lower than second in either event this season.
Levendoski and her Bison teammates will be in action this Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Navy Invite. Start time for the meet, which will conclude the regular season, is noon in Annapolis, Md.
