LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell swimming and diving teams will conclude the dual meet portion of their schedules Saturday at Lehigh. The Bison and Mountain Hawks will meet at 1 p.m. at Jacobs Pool.
Bucknell's women are 7-2 overall this year and 5-0 against Patriot League opponents. With a win on Saturday, the Bison will reach eight dual victories in a season for the first time since posting an 11-2 mark in 1997-98. Bucknell was last in action last weekend when it swept Army (W, 157.5-142.5) and Binghamton (W, 152-91).
The Bison women are 27-8 all-time against Lehigh, including a 184-102 victory last January on Senior Day in Kinney Natatorium. Bucknell has won 13 in a row over the Mountain Hawks, capturing every dual since the 2000-01 campaign.
The Bison men bring a 6-3 record into the weekend, including 4-1 against Patriot League foes. Bucknell has clinched its fourth consecutive above-.500 finish, and its sixth in eight years under head coach Dan Schinnerer. Like the women, the men faced Army (L, 195-105) and Binghamton (W, 149-92) last weekend.
Bucknell's men have won five of the last six meetings with Lehigh, including a 175-118 home victory last January. The Bison lead the all-time series that dates to 1960 by a 34-18 margin.
The final meet of the regular season for Bucknell will take place Feb. 1 when it travels to Annapolis, Md., for the Navy Invite. Two-and-one-half weeks later Navy will host the Patriot League Championships, which have expanded to a fourth day this year.
