LEWISBURG, Pa. –Bucknell head swimming and diving coach Dan Schinnerer announced on Wednesday the Bison men's team's incoming recruiting class for 2013-14. Five promising student-athletes will join the squad in the fall and will help replace five seniors that graduated last month.
“After having such a large class last year, we focused on a smaller class this year that would have the ability to make an immediate impact on our team,” said Schinnerer, who will start his eighth year on the Kinney Natatorium deck this fall. “Taken as a whole this class will definitely be able to contribute to the team immediately. We had a young squad last year and I expect the returners, as well as this group, to continue to make significant improvements so we are ready to face the challenges of a new, expanded Patriot League.”
The incoming class features student-athletes from five different states, including nearby Connecticut, New York and Ohio, in addition to Illinois and Kansas.
Bucknell posted a 6-4 overall record in 2012-13 and registered its eighth consecutive top-three finish at the Patriot League Championships. The Bison will open their 2013-14 campaign Saturday, Oct. 5, against UMBC at Kinney Natatorium.
