LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell juniors Kasha Scott (Cherry Hills Village, Colo./Cherry Creek) and Bridget Wilcox (Bernardsville, N.J./Taft School) were both selected to the Patriot League Women's Golf All-Academic Team on Monday. Scott and Wilcox played their way onto the All-Patriot League Team at the conference tournament two weeks ago, and now they add academic honors in the first year that the Patriot League has sponsored the sport of women's golf.
The Patriot League All-Academic Team for golf normally consists of five student-athletes, however six were selected this season due to a tie in the voting. Scott and Wilcox were joined on the team by Chelsea Michalek, Kelly Moylan and Ginette Schapira of Lehigh and Kelly Reagan of Holy Cross. In order to be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key reserve on his/her team.
Scott and Wilcox are both management majors at Bucknell with GPAs over 3.6. Both are Dean's List students and were previously named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll when the Bison competed in that conference through 2012.
Wilcox led the Bison with a 79.3 scoring average in 2012-13. She capped off her strong season with a runner-up finish at the inaugural Patriot League Championship on Apr. 20-21 at the Bucknell Golf Club. She posted rounds of 73-85-74 in that event and helped the Bison to a second-place team finish. Wilcox also had a top-10 finish (9th) at he Bucknell Invitational back in September.
Scott joined Wilcox on the All-Patriot League Team with a fifth-place finish at the Patriot League Championship. She put up scores of 81-80-76 at the league tourney, with the final-round 76 equaling her season best.
