Bucknell Women's Rowing's Lightweight Eight Posts Win Over Georgetown

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. (Overpeck Lake) –The Bucknell women's rowing team competed at a different venue Saturday when it faced the Georgetown lightweights and Columbia. The Bison varsity eight defeated the Hoyas, while a very good Lions team swept four races from Bucknell, including the varsity eight.
The lightweight eight opened the day with a nearly 12-second victory over Georgetown. The Bison third varsity eight was also in the race and placed third.
After Georgetown's lightweight four posted a win over Bucknell, the Bison moved on to four races against the Lions. Columbia won the varsity eight, second varsity eight and a pair of varsity four races as a heavy crosswind impacted racing.
Bucknell will return to action Thursday, April 25, when it hosts a rare mid-week race against Buffalo on the Susquehanna River.
