Bucknell Women's Tennis Swept 7-0 by Army

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's tennis fell to Army 7-0 at the Varsity Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon. The Black Knights won each match in straight sets, dropping the Bison's season record to 6-11 overall and 1-2 in the Patriot League.
Army (19-4, 6-0 PL) swept Bucknell for the doubles point. Only Maria Cioffi and Elena Vidrascu were able to win a game in their match. The Bison duo made it close but dropped the 8-5 decision to Della Taylor and Elle Taylor at the No. 1 position.
Bucknell's best look at a win in singles came at the bottom of the lineup. Stephanie Pino lost at No. 6 to Della Taylor by a score of 7-5, 6-3. No other Bison was able to win more than four games. Army's Erin Colton defeated Vidrascu 6-2, 6-2, and Jamila Paul topped Maria Cioffi 6-4, 6-0.
The pair of losses ended each of Vidrascu's short winning streaks. The junior had won her last two matches in both singles and doubles heading into Saturday's competition.
Bucknell will look to get back in the wins column tomorrow. The Bison host Lafayette at 10 a.m. at the Varsity Tennis Courts in their final Patriot League home match of the spring.
