Bucknell Women's Swimming and Diving Records Seven Program Top-10 Marks on Second Day of ECAC Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The 800 free relay set a school record and six other program top-10 marks were recorded by the Bucknell women's swimming and diving team Saturday on the second day of the ECAC championships at Harvard's Blodgett Pool. The Bison are in second place in the team standings, sandwiched between Boston U. and Marist.

Bucknell's relay squads excelled on Saturday as the 800 free relay and 200 medley relay both placed second. The 800 free relay broke the school record that was set just last week at the Patriot League Championships. The previous mark had stood for 10 years. Elizabeth Porcellio, Lyndsey Marcheskie, Stephanie Koziol and Lauren Perry teamed up to record a time of 7:31.76 as they finished second in the race to Boston U.'s squad.

Perry teamed up with Ashley Henderson, Morgan Oxley and Emily Wright on the 200 medley relay that posted the No. 9 time in school history (1:45.53) and came in second to Boston U. by just over a second.

Perry, who already owns school records in the 100 and 200 free events, etched her name in the 100 fly record book on Saturday. Her fifth-place finish in the event equaled the best by a Bison on the day and her time of 56.41 in the prelims ranks third in school history. The sophomore now appears on five different program top-10 ledgers (50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 100 fly). Porcellio placed seventh in the 100 fly, marking the only event in which the Bison had two "A" finalists. Porcellio's prelim time of 56.79 ranks fifth in program history.

Porcellio also posted a top-10 time (1:05.53) in the 100 breast as she finished ninth. Her finals time was faster than two "A" finalists. Morgan Oxley (13th) and Emily Gwynn (14th) also scored in the 100 breast.

Koziol finished fifth in the 400 IM to equal Perry for the best individual finish on the day. She finished third in the prelims. Alanna Nawrocki (9th) also scored in the 400 IM.

Marcheskie was the lone Bison to score in the 200 free, finishing 11th. Her time of 1:52.59 places her fourth in school annals, behind only teammates Perry and Porcellio as well as Megan Mongan.

Henderson (10th) and Jennifer Brennan (14th) scored in the 100 back. Henderson's 57.88 in the finals ranks her ninth on the school's all-time ledger.

The three-meter diving event was held Saturday and Tara Boyle placed sixth after taking second in the prelims. She finished fourth off the one-meter board on Friday. Lisa Bolle added a 14th-place finish to add three points to the Bucknell team total.

The ECAC Championships will wrap up on Sunday, the third and final day of competition.
