LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Freshman Meghan Garanich carded a career-best 77 to lead the Bucknell women's golf team to an opening-round 318 on Thursday at the Second Annual Bison Invitational at Paiute.
Bridget Wilcox added a 78 for Bucknell at the Snow Mountain Course at the Paiute Golf Club. Kasha Scott carded an 81, Jen Lee shot 82 and Emily Timmons posted an 83 for the Bison.
Florida power Nova Southeastern logged a 296 team score on Thursday and has an eight-shot lead over Old Dominion. Southern Utah is third at 306, followed by Southern Illinois (307), Radford (309), Youngstown State (312), Boise State (314), Bucknell (318), Northern Illinois (320), Western Illinois (323), Creighton (324), North Dakota (330) and Idaho State (336).
Alexandra Austin of Radford fired a 2-under 70, the only sub-par round of the day. Nova Southeastern's Liliana Cammisa is in second place at even par.
The tournament concludes on Friday with an 11 a.m. (Eastern) shotgun start.
