Bucknell Women's Water Polo Drops 10-3 Decision at No. 9 Long Beach State

LONG BEACH, Calif. –The Bucknell women's water polo team continued its week-long trip to California on Tuesday when it played at No. 9 Long Beach State. The Bison came out on the wrong end of a 10-3 decision against the 49ers at Campus Pool.
Julianne Valdes, Taylor Barnett and Samantha Deana provided the three goals for Bucknell (3-9). Rena Heim added nine saves on the defensive end of the pool as the Bison faced their second ranked team this week following No. 20 Pacific on Sunday.
All three of Bucknell's goals came in the first half. The Bison trailed 7-3 at intermission and then held Long Beach State (17-2) to three goals in the second half.
Chelsea Parks led the 49ers with four goals as they posted their 14th consecutive victory.
Bucknell will continue its California trip Thursday when it takes on Cal State Northridge (5 p.m.) and Occidental (7:45 p.m.) in Northridge, Calif.
