Bucknell Women's Water Polo's Hannah Sunday Named CWPA Southern Division Co-Rookie of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's water polo freshman Hannah Sunday was named CWPA Southern Division Co-Rookie of the Week, the league announced earlier this week. Sunday scored 13 goals and drew nine ejections as the Bison went 3-2 to open their season this past weekend at Kinney Natatorium. Sunday shared the weekly honor with Erin Donoghue from George Washington.
Giving the Bison valuable minutes off the bench, Sunday appeared in all five games this weekend. She led the team in goals and her five scores in a 14-5 win over Mercyhurst marked the most in a game by a Bison. She also had four goals and one assist in a five-goal victory over Villanova. In three of Bucknell's games this weekend, Sunday scored at least three goals.
Sunday finished the weekend atop the Bison leaderboard in goals (13) and points (14), while her nine ejections drawn were second on the squad.
Bucknell will return to the pool against Harvard and George Washington March 2-3 in Erie, Pa.
