Bucknell Swimming and Diving Closes Regular Season Saturday by Hosting Bison Invite

LEWISBURG, Pa. –The Bucknell men's and women's swimming and diving teams will wrap up their 2012-13 regular season Saturday when they host the Bison Invite in Kinney Natatorium. The nine-team event will begin at 10 a.m. Patriot League members American, Army, Lafayette and Navy (women), as well as Delaware, James Madison (divers), Seton Hall and Shippensburg, will join Bucknell for the meet.
The Bison Invite will be divided into two sessions with an approximate one-hour break from 1-2 p.m. No team scoring will be compiled.
Bucknell is coming off a sweep of Lehigh in the program's final dual meets of the season this past Saturday. The men posted a 175-118 victory, while the women defeated the Mountain Hawks 184-102. The Bison men finished the dual meet portion of their schedule 6-4, 4-2 in the Patriot League, while the women were 5-5, 4-2 in the Patriot League.
Bucknell's men have now finished better than .500 in five of the last six years. The women have finished at least .500 in 22 of the last 23 campaigns.
Kinney Natatorium last hosted the Bison Invite in 2011. That year it was a three-team event with American and Connecticut competing against host Bucknell. The Bison men posted five first-place finishes in the meet, while the women registered seven individual top-three placings.
Saturday's meet will serve as a tune-up for the upcoming Patriot League Championship, which will take place in Kinney Natatorium for the sixth time since the facility opened in 2003. Patriots will take place Feb. 21-23 with morning prelims beginning at 10:30 a.m. each day and the finals starting at 6 p.m. A live video broadcast of the entire three-day event will be available via Bison Vision.
