Double Winners Perry, Levendoski, Hetherington Lead Bison Women's Swimming & Diving in Dual Victory vs. Army

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's swimming and diving bounced back after falling to Colgate to take down another Patriot League foe as it defeated Army 189-106 at Kinney Natatorium on Saturday. Lauren Perry, Emma Levendoski and Katie Hetherington were all double winners at the home event, while Tori Molchany set a new program top-10 mark in the 3-meter dive.
Perry opened her day with a victory in the 200 free, clocking in at 1:52.36. She was later the winner in the 100 free with a time of 52.77. Close behind her in the shorter race was teammate Emily Wright, who took second with a time of 53.35 seconds.
Wright also had a gold medal earlier in the day, winning the 50 free in 24.24 seconds. In all, the Bison finished the day with 12 victories.
Levendoski did her part in the backstroke with wins at both the 100- and 200-yard distances. The freshman finished the 100 back in 58.91, just nine-tenths of a second ahead of fellow rookie Ashley Henderson in second place. The duo also 1-2 in the 200 back with Levendoski leading in 2:05.23 and Henderson again taking second in 2:06.18. Alanna Nawrocki made it a sweep with a third-place finish in 2:09.40.
Bucknell's third multi-winner was Hetherington in the dives. The sophomore won the 1-meter diving competition, in which the Bison took the top three spots, with a score of 252.83. She also finished the 3-meter dive with 279.30 points. Bucknell claimed first through fourth place on the higher board. Molchany was second with a score of 258.38, which ranks her third in program history. Tara Boyle, who was second in the 1-meter dive, was third at 3 meters and Lisa Bolle was fourth.
Among Bucknell's other winners on Saturday was Kelly Pontecorvo, who led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 1,000 free, and Elizabeth Porcellio in the 100 breaststroke. Kristen Purdy earned the top spot in the 200 butterfly, Meg Lattimer won the 200 breaststroke and Stephanie Koziol won the 500 free.
Bucknell will host Lehigh when it returns to action on Jan. 26. Competition at Kinney Natatorium is set for a 1 p.m. start.
