Scott's 1-Under 71 Highlights Bison Women's Golf's Day at Penn State

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. --Junior Kasha Scott recorded her first career sub-par round with a 1-under 71 on Saturday, helping the Bucknell women's golf team shave 10 strokes off its opening-round score and move up one spot into 15th place at the Nittany Lion Invitational. The Bison posted a 316 team score for a 36-hole total of 642, with one round still to come on Sunday.
Scott was the star of the day for Bucknell, as she began with a birdie on the 10th hole and added three more at 18, 2 and 4. Her lone blemishes were a double-bogey 6 at No. 16 and a bogey on the par-5 ninth hole, which was her last of the day.
Scott's 71 was one of only seven sub-par rounds on the day in the 103-player field.
Bridget Wilcox also started her day with a birdie on No. 10, and she went on to post her second straight 79. Lauren Bernard played very well with the exception of three holes and finished with an 81. Jen Lee carded an 85, Lexi Klein had an 87 and Meghan Garanich shot 91.
Ellen Ceresko of Penn state posted her second straight 3-under 69, and at 6-under for the tournament she has a three-stroke lead on teammate Christina Vosters, who shot 68 on Saturday. Gemma Fuster is in third place at 1-under through 36 holes.
Host Penn State has a commanding lead in the team standings. The Nittany Lions are 1-under as a team for the tournament, posting rounds of 292-283 so far. Second-place Old Dominion is 20 shots behind at 595 total, followed by Minnesota (598), Princeton (599) and College of Charleston (601).
Bucknell's 642 total is three shots behind William & Mary for 14th place.
The third and final round gets underway Sunday morning at the Penn State Blue Course.
