Bison Women's Trio Advances to Finals at Bucknell Invite

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Jen Bush and Stephanie Pino stretched their run in doubles into the finals and Elena Vidrascu advanced to her second consecutive championship round as Bison women's tennis continued played at the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday. All three Bison will have a shot at their first tournament titles when play concludes tomorrow at the Varsity Tennis Courts.
Vidrascu, who finished runner-up to teammate Maria Cioffi at last weekend's Mount St. Mary's Invitational, moved through to Sunday's final with a pair of easy wins. The junior defeated The Mount's Kelly Conroy 6-3, 6-2 in the second round and Villanova's Mikelle Mancini by an identical score in the semifinals. Vidrascu next faces Villanova's Tori Smyth, who knocked Cioffi out of contention today, 6-2, 6-0, in the other semi.
Bush and Pino, who are playing together for a second straight week, will take on Smyth and Allison Kruse in tomorrow's final. The Bison duo defeated Carly Landini and Liz Rossi of Mount St. Mary's 8-4 in the semifinal round.
Also in action tomorrow will be Ellie Fraser in the Flight B singles backdraw. Vidrascu and Cioffi will also face off against Christie Schneider and Elizabeth Morgan in the final consolation match of Flight A doubles.
