Bucknell Women's Swimming and Diving Inks Nine Recruits

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell swimming and diving head coach Dan Schinnerer announced Thursday a solid nine-person recruiting class that will join the Bison squad for the 2012-13 campaign. The group includes seven swimmers and a pair of divers, bolstering an already impressive roster that returns all seven All-Patriot League selections from this past season.
The Class of 2016 includes student-athletes from five different states. Five members of the group hail from New York State.
"We are very excited about the group of young women we have joining our program," said Schinnerer, who will be in his seventh year at the helm of the Bison in 2012-13. "They all have the potential to have an impact right away and we anticipate that they will be significant contributors to the team. We are fortunate to be bringing back a strong core of point scorers from last year's squad, and by adding this group, we are in a very good position to make some significant improvements as a team."
Bucknell posted a 5-4 overall record in 2011-12, including 4-2 opposite Patriot League foes. The Bison finished in third place at the Patriot League Championships, marking their 12th consecutive top-three showing at the competitive conference meet.
