Three Bucknell Football Seniors Named Members of NFF Hampshire Honor Society

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Three Bucknell football seniors were among the 721 players from 232 schools honored Wednesday by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) as members of the 2012 NFF Hampshire Honor Society. The NFF is comprised of college football seniors from all divisions of play who maintained a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average or better throughout their college careers.
The three Bison honorees were linebacker Tim Bolte (Towson, Md./Loyola Blakefield), cornerback Bryce Robertson (Reserve, La./East St. John), and offensive lineman Carson Rohrbaugh (LeMoyne, Pa./Lawrenceville School (N.J.)).
Bolte owns a 3.91 GPA while majoring in East Asian studies and political science. A 2011 CoSIDA Academic All-American, Bolte recently won the Alvin F. Jackson Jr. Memorial Scholar-Athlete Award at the Bucknell Senior Awards Banquet. The award is given to the senior athlete who "demonstrated outstanding academic and athletic achievement and future promise as Bucknell alumni." He was also a member of the FCS Athletic Directors Association Academic All-Star Team and is a two-time Academic All-District II member. Bolte is a two-time member of the Academic All-Patriot League Team and was a Campbell Trophy semifinalist. He is a four-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and was named the Patriot League Football Scholar-Athlete this past fall.
On the field, Bolte helped anchor the Bison defense from his linebacker position, starting in all 11 games, as he ended his career on a 22-start streak. He was second on the team with 64 tackles and third with nine tackles for a loss. He recorded two sacks, two fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles on the season. He also returned his one interception for a touchdown.
Robertson earned a 3.24 GPA as a management major in his Bucknell career. He recently received the Ronald J. "Pete" Pedrick Award at the Bucknell Senior Awards Banquet. The award is given to seniors whose actions "demonstrated improvement and special contributions to Bucknell athletics over a four-year period." He was named an FCS All-American by the Associated Press, The Sports Network, Walter Camp, and Phil Steele. The four-year starter was awarded the CFPA Elite Defensive Back honor and was a member of the Patriot League All-Academic Team. Robertson was also named to the First Team All-Patriot League this past fall.
Robertson had a historic senior campaign as he led the NCAA with 13 interceptions, breaking the Bucknell and Patriot League single-season records. His 14 career interceptions rank third all-time in Bison history. His 184 interception return yards in 2011 broke the school's single-season record.
Rohrbaugh recorded a 3.28 GPA as a management major. He was a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member. Rohrbaugh started all 11 games as a senior at left guard for the Bison and appeared in 40 career contests.
Bolte, Robertson and Rohrbaugh helped the Bison to a 6-5 record in 2011, a five-win improvement from the previous season.
